Schill and Seilacher
Schill & Seilacher GmbH is a family owned German company with international sales of industrial process additives. We are responsible for the promotion of their range of recyclable water-based barrier coatings including non-slip coatings for application to Paper & Board in the UK market and the Republic of Ireland.
We have been working together for over 20 years and the recent heightened level of interest for the replacement of plastics with more easily recyclable packaging provides exciting opportunities for future development.
Our Products
Non-Slip Coatings
These coatings under the brand Ukaphob are designed to be applied, dried and may be subsequently activated at above 100oC to give an expanded non-slip surface. There are different ranges of viscosity and degrees of hydrophobicity to suit our customers’ application devices and end applications.
Hydrophobic & Grease Resistant Coatings
A range of coatings under the Ukaphob and Ukadur brands which provide different levels of water resistance, grease and oil resistance and barriers to water vapour. These are highly suitable for the packaging of perishable goods.
Mechanical Protection
There are two main coating types under the Ukadur brand. MP200 offers a soft coating for the inside of a package to protect fragile goods. MP100 gives a hard coating for application to the outside of a package giving high gloss and scratch resistance.
Barriers for Flexo Application
These coatings have been specially developed under the Ukaprint brand to give a range of barrier properties including hydrophobic, non-slip, grease and oil resistance as well as giving good release effect for sticky goods.
Industrial soy polymers
Evocoat 4610 is a renewable soy polymer providing functional improvements compared to alternative binders, adhesives and rheology modifiers currently used in industrial markets. Innovative production technology leads to a high degree of active sites on each molecule which is why this product displays superior characteristics. It is used for partial or complete replacement of latex and other binders, viscosity modifiers and/or thickeners.
