The Henry Ford proposal for his Model T that ‘you can have it any colour you like as long as it’s black’ is a thing of the past. Now branded goods are constantly jockeying for position in the market and on the shop shelves by the reinforcement of a particular feature or characteristic that can justify its position and price to the consumer. Much of the marketing effort involves developing an image for the product or for the user of the product and this is often communicated by means of the packaging design.

We have extensive experience working with product and packaging designers to find the right effect using ink, plastic, paper and board components to give the best functionality and to deliver an excellent result for the brand owner. With the partnership approach we have with our customers and key suppliers we translate new ideas into reality to give a particular brand a marketing advantage.

Product Differentiation colour pigments

Our Solutions

GSS and LumiNova® phosphorescent pigments may be used in promotional packaging not only for Halloween and religious celebrations but also for products which are consumed in low lit environments such as nightclubs, bars and restaurants.

UV fluorescent pigments may be used in low lit environments when excited by black light to give a range of fluorescent colours. They also offer a degree of brand protection.

Thermochromics and Photochromics in ink deliver very effective functionality as well as product differentiation when used to indicate a change in temperature or light by application to a product label. A good example would be for bottle labels so that the product is consumed at the optimum temperature.
